PRO's 2010 shuttle rates are based on an estimated fuel cost of $3/gallon. PRO reserves the right to charge a fuel surcharge should the fuel rates increase significantly beyond this mark.

Haualapai Land Crossing Fees

The Hualapai Tribe owns the Diamond Creek Road and charges a fee for each person (including drivers) and each vehicle traveling the road. The Hualapai will bill the permit-holder prior to the trip. If PRO is doing your takeout shuttle, no response is needed at that time - we will include them in your invoice. If you do pay them yourself, have your receipt ready when you reach Diamond Creek or you may be charged for double fees.

The Hualapai ranger will take a count of the number of people and vehicles involved in your Diamond Creek takeout, including any private vehicles. Please verify that the number of people (including drivers) and vehicles is correct before signing the Hualapai permit. Once signed, the billing is final and the tribe will not re-negotiate. Your final billing from PRO will match the
number that you signed for on the Hualapai permit, rather than any predicted numbers.

For the 2010 season, the Hualapai land use fees are $64.20 per vehicle and per person, which includes 7% tribal tax. For a full Grand Canyon trip of 16 people, with two vehicles (and two drivers) picking them up, 20 fees will be collected for a total of $1284. This fee is subject to change.

Private Vehicle Shuttles

PRO does not shuttle private vehicles. If your shuttle plans involve relocating your private vehicles, we recommend River Runner's Shuttle Service (928-564-2391) owned and operated by the Montgomery family. RRSS is reliable, resourceful, and well known in the region.  Find prices and printable reservation forms at www.rrshuttleservice.com. Keep in mind that you may also have to make storage arrangements for your vehicle.

Diamond Creek Road

Diamond and Peach Springs Creeks can flood due to torrential downpours upstream from the town of Peach Springs and this can cause the Diamond Creek Road to wash out. The Hualapai Tribal Road Crew works with heavy equipment to rebuild a vehicular route into the canyon. Usually the tribe gets the road open again within 24 hours, but after an especially large flood the road can be closed for several days. Our customers and boats can be trapped in the canyon by the road closure. The "road" is often rough and unstable, and travel is slow.  Monsoon rain activity can cause several road closures in one monsoon season (July-September).  Downpours typically occur in the afternoon.

New Pearce Ferry Road

A two-mile road extension and new takeout ramp were opened on 3/15/2010. This ramp is for take-outs only; the launching of boats is prohibited, and the area is closed to swimming, fishing, camping, and shoreline fires. The ramp itself is reserved for boats that are being loaded directly onto trailers – there is a raft de-rigging space upstream and downstream of the ramp, accessible by vehicle.
